Brushing & Flossing

Brushing & Flossing

To stop gum disease, it’s crucial to brush your teeth and floss. Gum disease may start to develop after several days of not brushing your teeth.

It takes more than just brushing your teeth to practice good dental hygiene. Yes, brushing is a great technique to keep your teeth clean, get rid of dental plaque, and keep cavities at bay. However, brushing your teeth is insufficient to maintain the health of your teeth and stop gum disease.

Because flossing lifts and eliminates plaque and food particles from in between your teeth, it helps maintain proper dental hygiene. Plaque and food particles are also removed by brushing, but a toothbrush’s bristles can’t get all of them because of their limited depth of penetration. Therefore, flossing aids in maintaining a clean mouth.

During your dental check up, please discuss with one of our provider’s the importance of brushing and flossing your teeth daily.
